McKinley Park is a colorful custom designed playground based on East Sacramento’s 125-year-old past. Built by the community, it includes an enchanting rose garden, river boat, street trolley, large tree house, volleyball courts, swimming pool, soccer field, climbing wall, locally made art installations and the list goes on.

Tudor, Colonial Revival, Arts and Crafts, California Bungalow— these classic architectural styles keep your head spinning in this elegant collection of streets (numbered streets in the 40s) in East Sacramento. This fashionable neighborhood has been home to many famous residents such as Ronald Reagan and former mayor of Sacramento, Kevin Johnson. Take a stroll through the "Fab 40's" during Christmas time and be wooed by lavishly decorated homes that are welcome to the public during special home tours.

RUN TO FEED THE HUNGRY

In 1994, 796 participants turned out for the inaugural Run to Feed the Hungry event on Thanksgiving morning. This East Sacramento tradition, now celebrating over 28,500 participants, is not only the largest run in Sacramento, but is also the largest Thanksgiving Day fun run in the country.
